Engineered Packaging Solutions, a California based company specializing in custom cases for multiple industries, recently made a large donation of reusable Hardigg shipping cases to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s San Dimas Mountain Rescue Team. The San Dimas Mountain Rescue Team is one of eight All-Volunteer Search and Rescue Teams that function as specialized units of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department. Though the department furnishes the team with facilities, some vehicles and life-saving equipment to perform core SAR functions within County standards, the team is mostly funded by donations and grants from generous donors and supporters.
The law enforcement cases that Engineered Packaging Solutions have donated will be used by the Rescue team to hold cold weather clothing, rescue gear, medical supplies, swift water gear and other life saving equipment. In the past, rescue gear was stored in warehouses or in the back of trucks making organization of many rescues a lot more difficult. These water tight cases allow for better organization of equipment, greater protection from the elements, and quicker response times. Some of the Pelican custom cases donated were also provided to other areas within the Sheriff’s Department such as Aero Bureau, Homicide, and local stations.
